Trevor Donovan stars at Kit Acklin in History channels epic mini series Texas Rising

Trevor Donovan will be playing Kit Acklin in the History Channel's four-night, eight-hour miniseries about the Texas revolution and the Texas Rangers!

Sadly, we have to wait until it premieres on May 25, 2015, but in the meantime we get to stare at these pictures of Mr. Delicious Donovan!

History will re-team with Thinkfactory Media's Leslie Greif, the executive producer of the network's 2012 ratings hit (and first scripted venture) "Hatfields & McCoys," on  a new eight-hour miniseries about the Texas Revolution tentatively titled "Texas Rising."

In 1836, if west of the Mississippi was considered the Wild West then Texas was hell on earth. Crushed from the outside by Mexican armadas and attacked from within by ferocious Comanche tribes – no one was safe. But this was a time of bravery, a time to die for what you believed in and a time to stand tall against the cruel rule of the Mexican General Santa Anna. From General Sam Houston, to rag tag Rangers to the legendary "Yellow Rose of Texas" - this is a story of the human spirit rising in the face of insurmountable odds and claiming a piece of history for all eternity.
While History's EVP and General Manager Dirk Hoogstra acknowledged that the series will be a "massive undertaking," both he and Greif were equally enthusiastic at the prospect of the challenge. “The battle for Texas independence was epic and really the battle for the future of America," said Greif. "We have Academy Award- and Emmy-nominated talent, a stellar ensemble cast is being set, and with this team, we will seek to even further redefine and elevate the term 'event television.’"

"Texas Rising" is slated to premiere on History in 2015.
